TE KUPENGA WHAKAOTI MAHI PATUNGA / NATIONAL NETWORK OF FAMILY VIOLENCE SERVICES (NZ) INCORPORATED HAS FORMALLY CEASED OPERATING
This marks the conclusion of TKWMP/NNFV’s mahi. It follows the visionary decision of its members in November 2025 to create space for the prospect of a new entity to emerge to best support the important mahi of the non-profit specialist family violence sector and its workforces. Following recent approval of arrangements enabling weaFV to take over relevant contracts previously held by TKWMP/NNFVS, the process of winding down TKWMP/NNFVS is now proceeding.
We acknowledge and thank all of the member organisations of TKWMP/NNFVS, and the many people who have contributed their time, expertise, leadership and commitment to its work. TKWMP/NNFVS was made possible by the collective efforts of its members, and we recognise the significant contribution they have made throughout its existence.
While weaFV will take over certain contracts and continue work in related areas, weaFV is an entirely separate organisation from TKWMP/NNFVS. It has its own governance and organisational structure, and its purposes and approach differ in important respects from those of TKWMP/NNFVS. The transition of contracts should therefore not be understood as TKWMP/NNFVS continuing under a new name or structure.
Rather, the establishment of weaFV represents a new chapter and a new organisation, building on lessons, relationships and experience developed across the sector while establishing its own direction and ways of working.
As TKWMP/NNFVS closes, we encourage our former member organisations and partners, as well as the wider family violence sector, to engage with and support weaFV as it begins operating publicly. Sector knowledge, experience and continued commitment will be valuable as weaFV develops its work and relationships across the motu.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has supported, participated in and contributed to TKWMP/NNFVS.
TKWMP/NNFVS is no longer operating, and this website will remain as a record of its work. This site will NOT be updated from August 2026.
For information about weaFV and its work, please refer to weaFV’s official channels. We understand the weaFV website www.weafv.org.nz will be operational from September 2026.
